The “26th CHANDER MEMORIAL RALLY 2025”, the 5th Qualifier Round of the Indian National TSD Rally Championship (TSD – Time – Speed – Distance format) for 4 Wheelers on 23rd November 2025 was organised by Coimbatore Auto Sports Club (CASC), Coimbatore.
A total of 39 cars, comprising 23 cars in the INTSDRC & Open class, 13 cars in the novice class , 3 cars in all ladies class participated in the event.
The event was flagged of at 9.00 AM by Thiru. Pavankumar G. Giriyappanavar, I.A.S., District Collector, Coimbatore from The Coimbatore Cosmopolitan Club, Race Course, Coimbatore – 18.
Actual start of the event was near Nehru College, Chettipalayam and proceeded to Okklipalayam, Aricipalayam, Velanthavalam Road, Otthakalmandapam, Valukuparai, Meenakshipuram, Sokkanur, Perumpathi, Kanalpudur, Kalathur, Vadakipalayam, Puravipalayam, Muthugoundenur, Pachapalayam and the event finished near Palathurai by 1.30 PM.
Competitors came from various parts of our country like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Ernakulam, and Erode appreciated the organisers for the enjoyable scenic route.
The rally ran safely with no incidents although the route itself was challenging from the sporting perspective. The route was made especially interesting for the competitors with some tricky time controls which tested the skills of the navigators and drivers.
Winner of the INTSDRC-1 and Open class, V.Santhoshkumar from Coimbatore said, “A special appreciation to CASC and Chander family for conducting this wonderful event for 26 yrs now. Conducting for such a long time is not so easy every member of CASC lended their co-operation in making the event so successful. The rally route was superb and dirt section was wonderful. Heartfelt thanks to Team CASC and Chander family”, he said
INTSDRC Mixed Class Winner Ramani said, “Rally Organising was top-notch , and the route plans were incredible. Every Minute of the rally was a thrill, we loved it ! The grass layout was a big highlight. Kudos to the organisers for their professionalism, the Chander Memorial Rally is always a treat.
INTSDRC Womens class Runner Nilofer Ibrahim said, “It was a fabulous route and great learning experience for us, it was a thriller experience. Great Rally”.
Many competitors appreciated the event as an amazing experience with valuable take aways for both crew members in every car. The level of thought and effort put into creating a balanced yet challenging competition that was truly commendable. It would be fantastic to see more events like this on the club’s calendar in the future. Your passion and commitment to the sport continue to inspire the community. Kudos to the entire team for putting together such a wonderful and memorable event!”.
The Prize Distribution function was held at The Coimbatore Cosmopolitan Club on Sunday 23rd November 2025 at 7.00 PM. Thiru. K.Karthikeyan I.P.S., Superintendent of Police, Coimbatore District, was the Chief Guest and distributed the Prizes.
